WASHINGTON – Georgetown women's soccer freshman Cara Martin was named BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week as announced by the conference on Monday. The news comes after Georgetown defeated Columbia 2-0 on Sunday and tied Maryland 1-1 on Thursday.

• The freshman has logged 540 minutes for the Blue & Gray over all five games of 2022.
• The Alexandria native made her collegiate debut against No. 14 Penn State to help the Hoyas secure a crucial 2-2 tie against the Nittany Lions. 
• Martin has season-high saves against Maryland (2-2) and Columbia (2-0) tallying four saves in each game.
• The goalkeeper has made 13 saves and has only allowed six goals against.
• After playing three top-25 opponents, Martin has helped Georgetown to a 2-1-3 record in nonconference play.

 
What Lies Ahead

• Georgetown has a bye this Thursday and plays next on September 11 at 1 p.m. against William & Mary at Shaw Field.
