About the Hoyas:
  • The Hoyas currently sit fifth in the BIG EAST alongside four other programs at 3-5 (Seton Hall, Villanova, DePaul and Butler). Only the top six teams in the BIG EAST make the postseason tournament, so it will be a battle for the final spots as the season nears the midpoint of the conference schedule.
  • Junior Mary Grace Goyena and graduate student Peyton Wilhite have led the Georgetown offense this season. Goyena is eighth in the BIG EAST with 3.68 points per set and Wilhite is ninth with 3.60.
  • Libero Karis Park is fourth in the conference with 4.00 digs per set.
  • The Blue & Gray has been stalwarts on defense this season, allowing a .179 opponent hitting percentage, good for second best in conference.
Scouting St. John's:
  • St. John's is on a four-game win streak that has seen 3-0 victories over DePaul, Butler, and Xavier as well as a 3-2 win against Marquette.
  • The Red Storm's offense has been clicking well so far this season. They rank third in the BIG EAST in kills per set, fourth in assists, and fourth in hitting percentage.
  • Polish setter Wiktoria Kowalcyk leads all players in the conference with .44 aces per set.

Scouting Seton Hall
  • The Pirates split their results last weekend, falling 1-3 to the Golden Eagles before defeating the Blue Demons 3-2.
  • Seton Hall ranks second in the BIG EAST with 2.16 blocks per set. The duo of Asli Subasli and Hanna Tulli lead the defense with 1.03 blocks per set each
  • Graduate student Madeline Matheny leads the offense with 3.00 kills per set. She has returned to the Pirates this season after suffering a season-ending injury in the first set of 2022.
