WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's women's cross country team won the BIG EAST Championship for the fourth-straight season. No. 3 Georgetown now joins Villanova as the only teams to have achieved this feat (2008-11, 1989-94).
Chloe Scrimgeour won the individual title for the women. The men finished third out of nine teams.
ON THE RECORD
"Great performances from both our Men & Women as we kicked off Post Season Competition. Our men raced well to finish 3rd to two very good teams. I'm sure Coach Bonsey will have them ready to mix it up again at the Regional Meet in 2 weeks. Four in a row…what a feat by our Lady Hoyas!! Placing 5 in the top 10 and having the individual Champion,
Chloe Scrimgeour, confirms how good this group of women are. Congrats to Coach Baker for having them ready when it matters most and for leading our women to 4 consecutive Big East XC Championships.

Alton McKenzie
"Putting the pieces together in terms of recruitment, training, health, culture and race mentality are all major challenges every year, and this group has leaned into each phase of that team building. Even then, other great programs have a say in the outcome, so we're proud of our effort, grateful that what we had today was enough, and we're happy to represent Georgetown and our alumni at this level. We'll learn everything we can from this weekend and reset our focus for the NCAA season." - Head Women's Cross Country Coach
Mitchell Baker
"That was a step in the right direction for the men. We train all season to be our best in the post season and I feel we are starting to round into form. We look forward to taking another step in 2 weeks at the regional meet" - Head Men's Cross Country Coach
Brandon Bonsey
