Women’s Lacrosse Travels to Harvard

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown women's lacrosse team will travel to Cambridge, Massachusetts to take on the Harvard Crimson (0-1) on Saturday. The opening draw is scheduled for 1 p.m and will air on ESPN+. The Hoyas are currently 1-2 on the season following a 8-15 loss against No. 8 Rutgers last week. 

About the Hoyas
  • The Hoyas had a slow start against Rutgers but went on a six goal scoring run in the third quarter before ultimately falling 15-8 to GU's first ranked opponent this season. 
  • Erin Bakes leads the Hoya offense with 12 goals, recording four in each game this season. Kylie Hazen and Emma Gebhadt follow with seven apiece.
  • Hazen has been an all around offensive threat with a squad best 13 points (seven goals, six assists) and 14 draw controls.
  • Nicole Massimino is pacing the defense with a team best six caused turnovers and six ground balls. 
About the Crimson
  • HU opened the season with a 17-10 loss at No. 17 Michigan on Sunday. 
  • Junior goalie Chloe Provenzano made six saves after entering the competition at the 10:01 mark in the second quarter. 
  • Harvard returns leading scorer and point earner Callie Hem (34 goals, 10 assists) as well as defensive leader Shea Jenkins who had a team high 31 ground balls and 21 caused turnovers last season. 
  • The Crimson received 81 points to be picked third in the Ivy League Preseason Poll behind Yale (114) and Princeton (126).
Series Info 
  • This is the first ever meeting between Georgetown and Harvard. The two teams were scheduled to face at Harvard last season but the game was canceled due to weather.
