WASHINGTON – The Georgetown women's track & field team opened the outdoor season on a strong note with a good performance at the Fred Hardy Invitational, hosted by the University of Richmond. A handful of Hoyas competed in the day-long meet held at the Fred Hardy Track at Robins Stadium in Richmond, Virginia.
ON THE RECORD
"Great season opener for our women - the 400m runners ran well to lead a 1-2-3 sweep with
KC Ashiogwu taking the win with
Renee Newton and
Jadah Fitzgerald close behind.
Sami Corman won the 800m with a very respectable time of 2:08.05 in less than ideal weather conditions and her effort reflects there's more to come this season. We're looking forward to having more of our team to open up their season next week at the Raleigh Relays and excited for what's in store this outdoor season." - Director of Track & Field / Cross Country
