WASHINGTON – Georgetown University graduate student Nicole Massimino was named the BIG EAST Defender of the Week on Monday as announced by the league. Massimino was honored for her performance in the Hoyas 1-1 week against No. 23 Johns Hopkins and Delaware.

• Massimino totaled nine ground balls and six caused turnovers last week. The graduate student tallied six ground balls and three caused turnovers against No.23 Johns Hopkins while adding three ground balls and three caused turnovers in an 11-7 win over Delaware. 
• The Pennsylvania native holds a team best 13 caused turnovers and 17 ground balls this season.
