Men’s Lacrosse Travels to Face Marquette

WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's men's lacrosse team hits the road for the first time since March 5 with a BIG EAST showdown against Marquette in Milwaukee on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET. The No. 9/10 Hoyas are riding a six-game winning streak and look to remain unbeaten in league play against the Golden Eagles.

About Georgetown
  • The Hoyas are 6-3 on the year and 2-0 in BIG EAST play following a 13-11 win over Providence on Saturday.
  • Tucker Dordevic led Georgetown with four goals and an assist while Jacob Kelly had three goals and three assists. Kelly added nine ground balls as well.
  • Patrick Crogan and James Reilly both scored twice while Declan McDermott and Jordan Wray each found the back of the cage once.
  • Reilly put together another dominant faceoff performance, winning 17 of 21 (.772) on the day to go with 15 ground balls.
  • Georgetown dominated the stat sheet on total ground balls as well, collecting 61 to Providence's 27 in the game.

  • Reilly has won 125-of-220 (.568) faceoffs while collecting 90 ground balls. He has hauled in at least 10 ground balls in six of Georgetown's nine games this season.
  • Defensively, Will Bowen has been credited with 20 caused turnovers to lead the BIG EAST with 2.22 a game. Wallace Halpert adds 14 and Will Tominovich chips in 13.
  • In goal, Michael Scharfenberger has posted a 6-0 record with a 10.41 goals-against average to go with a .455 save percentage and 50 total saves.
  • As a team, Georgetown leads the nation in man-up offense, converting at a .688 clip. The Hoyas are also top-10 nationally in ground balls per game (second overall, 41.00), clearing (second overall, .918), caused turnovers per game (seventh overall, 10.00) and fewest turnovers (ninth overall, 14.78).
Scouting Marquette
  • The Golden Eagles are 6-5 on the year and are coming off of a 21-11 midweek loss at No.7/6 Cornell.
  • Bobby O'Grady (31G, 5A) and Jake Stegman (13G, 33A) both lead Marquette with 36 points.
  • Marquette's main faceoff specialist, Luke Williams, is 73-145 (.503) with 37 ground balls on the season while Grant Evans is 40-70 (.630) with 32 ground balls.
  • On the defensive end, Mason Woodward has been credited with 14 caused turnovers and adds 60 ground balls.
  • In goal, Michael Allieri has started all 11 games of the season for the Golden Eagles. He owns an 11.17 GAA and a .475 save percentage to go with 97 saves on the year.

  • The Hoyas and Golden Eagles have played 12 times with Georgetown owning a 7-5 series advantage.
  • Georgetown has won the past four meetings, including a 20-10 regular season win in D.C. and a 15-5 victory in BIG EAST semifinals on the Hilltop.
