Women’s Lacrosse Hosts Butler for Final Game of the Season

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown women's lacrosse team (6-10,1-4 BE) will finish the regular season on the Hilltop against Butler (5-9, 1-4 BE) on Saturday at 1 p.m. Saturday is Senior day, prior to the contest GU will celebrate its 10 seniors.

About the Hoyas
  • The Hoyas are coming off a 15-2 loss at Denver last weekend. 
  • Against the Huskies, Olivia Rubin and Tessa Brooks each netted a goal while Emma Gebhardt and Kylie Hazen tallied one assist apiece.
  • Hazen has been the key to GU's offense with a career-high and squad-best 56 points, tallying 35 goals and a team-high 21 assists. Bakes is second with 43 points (38 G, 5 A) followed by Emma Gebhardt with 41 points (25 G, 16 A). 
  • In net, Emily Gaven totals 83 saves for a .423 save percentage. Leah Warehime has been GU's second-half goalie throughout the season totaling 75 saves for a .503 save percentage.
  • Nicole Massimino paces the defense with 25 caused turnovers and 32 ground balls followed by Melissa Massimino with 19 caused turnovers and 16 ground balls. 
  • At the draw, Maley Starr leads the Blue & Gray with 38 draw controls followed by Hazen with 34 and Lily Athanas with 33.
About the Bulldogs
  • Head coach Maggie Zantgraf is in her first season at the helm of Butler women's lacrosse. 
  • Butler is searching for one more win to tie its season-high program record of six wins. 
  • On Monday, Luci Selander was awarded BIG EAST Freshman of the Week for her performance against Marquette and UConn last week. She totaled 12 points (8G, 4A). 
  • In net, Caroline Smith has played in every game for the Bulldogs. She totals 103 saves with a .398 save percentage. 
  • Leah Rubino leads Butler at the draw with 49 draw controls followed by Lauren Dunne with 38.
  • Rubino is the Bulldogs leading scorer with 38 points (34G, 4A).

  • Saturdays' contest is the seventh all-time meeting between these two programs. 
  • The Hoyas hold the commanding 6-0 series advantage. 
  • Last season, GU earned a 17-7 victory over the Bulldogs at Butler.
