WASHINGTON – The Georgetown women's lacrosse team (2-1) fell 13-6 to the Rutgers Scarlet Knight on Saturday afternoon at Cooper Field.

How It Happened
- Rutgers got the scoring started early with a goal in the opening minute of the contest. The Hoyas responded with a goal from Emma Gebhardt at the 10:26 mark to tie the score 1-1. Rutgers Cassidy Spilis grabbed a 4-1 lead for the Scarlet Knights with a three-goal run. Gebhardt responded again for the Hoyas to bring GU within two at the end of the first.
- The Scarlet Knights controlled the second quarter with five goals from four student-athletes to lead the contest 9-2 at halftime.
- Gracie Driggs found the back of the net at the 11:36 mark of the third quarter to give the Hoyas their third goal of the afternoon. Rutgers closed out the quarter with three-consecutive goals to widen its lead to 12-3.
- Gebhardt got to work early in the fourth with a goal 20 seconds into the quarter. Rutgers responded with a goal two minutes later but the Hoyas would score two back-to-back to close out the quarter.
Of Note
- Gebhardt led the GU offense with three goals and one assist while Driggs, Tatum Geist and Neely Holt added one goal each.
- Goalie Leah Warehime made 12 saves against the Scarlet Knights.
- Maggie O'Brien recorded a team-best four ground balls and four draw controls
