WASHINGTON – The Georgetown women's lacrosse team will open the 2024 campaign at American University on Saturday at 11 a.m.

About the Hoyas

• Midfielder Tatum Geist and attacker Kylie Hazen were named Preseason All-BIG EAST. Last season, Geist and Hazen were named First Team All-BIG EAST.
• In the 2024 BIG EAST Preseason Poll, Georgetown was picked to finish fourth with 21 points and one first place vote. 
• Seniors Tessa Brooks, Melissa Massimino, Geist and Hazen were selected as captains by their teammates to lead the 2024 squad. 
• The Hoyas return 26 players from the 2023 team and welcome in eight freshmen along with three graduate transfers. 
• Head Coach Ricky Fried is entering his 20th season as head coach of the Hoyas and his 22nd at Georgetown. 

About the Eagles

• Head Coach Lindsay Teeters is entering her fourth season at the helm of American women's lacrosse. 
• The Eagles finished 6-10 last season and 2-7 in Patriot League action. 
• AU added nine freshmen to the roster after graduating six seniors last year.
• Senior midfielder Hannah Spease was selected to the Patriot League Preseason All-League team. 
• The Eagles return junior goalkeeper Lexi Rakis, who made 42 saves in her eight appearances in the 2023 season.
