Women’s Lacrosse Wraps 2024 Season on Senior Day Against UConn

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown women's lacrosse team (7-9, 4-1 BE) will host UConn (9-6, 4-1 BE) on Senior Day for the final contest of the 2024 season on Saturday, April 27. The first draw is set for noon at Cooper Field. 

About the Hoyas
  • The Blue & Gray are coming off of a 18-7 road victory over Monmouth on Saturday afternoon. GU's 18-goal performance tied its season high of goals in a game for the fourth time this season and third time in consecutive games.
  • Thirteen Hoyas scored in the win led by Kylie Hazen with six points (3G, 3A), earning her a spot on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll. Tatum Geist (3G) and Maley Starr (2G, 1A) each tallied three points while Gracie Driggs (1G, 1A), Maggie O'Brien (1G, 1A) and Anne McGovern (1G, 1A) each had two. 
  • Geist was named BIG EAST Midfielder of the week for her three goals off of four shots against Monmouth. The team captain also led the Blue & Gray with five ground balls and added one caused turnover.
  • In net, Leah Wareime tallied 6 saves for a .400 save percentage against the Hawk.
  • Driggs leads the Hoyas with 37 goals and 39 points followed by Emma Gebhardt (29G, 7A) and Kylie Hazen (16G, 20A)with 36 points each. 
  • Maggie O'Brien leads the Blue & Gray with 54 draw controls followed by Lily Athanas with 53 and Driggs with 43.
  • Geist paces the Hoyas with 17 caused turnovers while Starr has 15. 
  • This season Warehime totals 112 saves between the pipes for a .393 save percentage. 
About the Huskies
  • The Huskies are coming off of a decisive 21-11 victory at home over the Butler Bulldogs last Saturday.
  • Kate Shaffer tallied a team high of 11 points against the Bulldogs, posting five goals and six assists.
  • Shaffer (39G, 20A) leads the UConn offense with 59 points followed by Rayea Davis (41G, 14A) with 55.
  • At the circle, Madelyn George holds a team high of 93 draw controls.
  • In net, Landyn White has 135 saves for a save percentage of .480.

  • Saturday's contest will be the 16th all-time meeting for the Hoyas and the Huskies with GU holding a 19-6 advantage over UConn. 
  • The Hoyas and the Huskies will be playing for tournament seeding with the winner of Saturday's matchup earning the No. 2 seed and the losing team slotting at No. 3.
