WASHINGTON – Georgetown University women's lacrosse alumna
Erin Bakes has been named to the 23-player roster that will represent the United States at the World Lacrosse Box Championships in Utica, N.Y. from Sept. 20-29.
The U.S. will be one of 10 nations competing in the women's championship, the first time World Lacrosse has hosted a women's box world championship. The U.S. men have won five straight bronze medals in the box world championships and will be one of 28 nations competing in the men's portion of the event in Utica.
Bakes transferred to Georgetown in 2021 from the University of Southern California to play her senior and graduate seasons with the Hoyas. During her two years on the Hilltop Bakes played in 35 games and recorded 79 goals, 19 assists, two game-winning goals, 27 ground balls and 18 caused turnovers.
