WASHINGTON – Georgetown University women's lacrosse attacker
Sophia Loschert was named BIG EAST Freshman of the Week for the second time this season, while
Kendall Steer was named BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the conference on Monday. Senior midfielder
Maley Starr was also named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll. The Georgetown student-athletes were honored for their performances in the Hoyas' 14-13 victory over Marquette on Saturday afternoon. The win secured GU a spot in the BIG EAST tournament.
Sophia Loschert | Fr. | Attacker - Freshman of the Week
- Against the Golden Eagles, Loschert led GU with three goals.
- This is the freshman's second BIG EAST Freshman of the Week award.
Kendall Steer | Jr. | Defender - Defensive Player of the Week
- Steer paced the defense with three caused turnovers and three ground balls against Marquette.
- The junior also tallied one assist in the victory.
Maley Starr | Sr. | Midfielder - BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
- Against the Golden Eagles, Starr led the offense with six points (2G, 4A).
- The senior also tallied two ground balls and one draw control.

The Hoyas will travel to Storrs, Connecticut to take on UConn in the BIG EAST regular season finale on Saturday, April 26. Opening draw is scheduled for noon at Joseph J. Morrone Stadium.
