WASHINGTON – Two Georgetown University men's lacrosse players earned BIG EAST Weekly honors, as announced by the league office on Monday.
Jack Ransom was named both the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week and the BIG EAST Freshman of the Week while
Seamus Foley earned a spot on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll after the Hoyas defeated Villanova 17-9 to clinch the top-seed at the BIG EAST Championship, presented by JEEP and a share of the BIG EAST Regular Season crown.

Ransom scored nine goals in Georgetown's 17-9 victory over then-No. 19 Villanova to clinch the BIG EAST Regular Season Championship and the top-seed at the BIG EAST Championships. His nine goals are tied for the most in a Division 1 game this season and is one shy of the Georgetown program record and two off of the NCAA record). Ransom's nine goals are the most all-time in a BIG EAST regular season game, passing a multitude of players including Georgetown's Jake Carraway ('20, '21) with eight against Villanova in 2021. He added four ground balls and one caused turnover in the win as well. Ransom has scored 15 goals in the past two games.

BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
Foley posted a career-high four caused turnovers in Georgetown's win over Villanova and added three ground balls. The Hoya defense held Villanova to just four goals in the final 46:14 of the game. Georgetown's defense has held opponents to single digit goals in eight of their 13 games this season and in each of their last four outings.
Georgetown returns to action on Thursday at 6 p.m. ET against Marquette in the BIG EAST Championship Semifinals in Denver. The game will be televised on CBS Sports Network with the winner advancing to BIG EAST Championship Finals on Saturday.
