Georgetown Sweeps BIG EAST Men’s Lacrosse Individual Honors; Six Hoyas Named All-BIG EAST

DENVER – Six Georgetown University men's lacrosse standouts earned All-BIG EAST honors while the Hoyas swept every individual postseason award, as announced by the league office on Wednesday. Aidan Carroll was named the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Year, Ty Banks was tabbed the BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Year, Anderson Moore was selected as the BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Year and Ross Prince was named both the BIG EAST Freshman of the Year and BIG EAST Co-Specialist of the Year.
 
Additionally, Banks, Carroll and Moore were each unanimous selections to the All-BIG EAST First Team while Robert Plath, Jack Ransom and Prince were each named All-BIG EAST Second Team.

Banks repeats as an All-BIG EAST First Team selection in his second season on the Hilltop and adds a BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Year accolade to his resume. As Georgetown's top cover defenseman, he has been credited with 21 caused turnovers to go with 33 ground balls on the season while adding a goal and an assist on the offensive end. Banks led a Georgetown defense that held its opponents to single digit goals in eight of their 13 games this season. He joins Georgetown alums Chris Nixon ('10) in 2010 and Will Bowen (MSF'23) in 2022 and 2023 as BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Year honorees.

All-BIG EAST First Team (unanimous)
Carroll capitalized on his breakout 2024 season with a repeat selection to the All-BIG EAST First Team while also earning BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Year recognition. He led the Hoyas with 33 goals and 20 assists for 53 points during the regular season to become just the seventh Hoya in program history with at least two 50-point seasons in a career. Carroll led the Hoyas in both game-winning goals and man-up goals with three each on the year. He joins Georgetown standouts Daniel Bucaro (C'19) in 2019, Jake Carraway (B'20, MiM'21) in 2021, both Graham Bundy Jr. (B'23, MiM'24) and Dylan Watson (B'22) in 2022 and Tucker Dordevic (MiM'23) in 2023 as BIG EAST Offensive Players of the Year.

Moore improved from an All-BIG EAST Second Team honoree and BIG EAST Freshman of the Year in 2024 to a unanimous All-BIG EAST First Team and unanimous BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Year as a sophomore in 2025. He won nine games in goal and posted a 9.02 goals-against average to lead the BIG EAST to go with a .534 save percentage while collecting 132 saves and 44 ground balls. He joins Nick Marrocco (B'18) in 2018 and Owen McElroy (B'21, SCS'22) in 2021 and 2022 as the BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Year.

BIG EAST Co-Specialist of the Year
All-BIG EAST Second Team
Prince had a standout rookie season on the Hilltop to garner BIG EAST Freshman of the Year and BIG EAST Co-Specialist of the Year honors while also picking up a spot on the All-BIG EAST Second Team. He won 93-of-152 (.612) faceoffs for the Hoyas while collecting 34 ground balls and adding a goal and an assist on the offensive end. Prince is the fifth Hoya to be named BIG EAST Freshman of the Year, joining current teammates Patrick Crogan in 2023 and Anderson Moore in 2024 along with TJ Haley (C'24) in 2021 and Daniel Bucaro (C'19) in 2016.
 
Robert Plath

All-BIG EAST Second Team
Plath earns All-BIG EAST Second Team accolades after a stellar rookie campaign for the Hoyas. He led the Blue & Gray and all BIG EAST players during the regular season with 26 caused turnovers – good enough to lead all freshman in the NCAA and rank seventh nationally. Plath also had 21 ground balls for the Hoyas as well.

All-BIG EAST Second Team
Ransom earns All-BIG EAST Second Team recognition after scoring 26 goals to go with one assist as a freshman for the Hoyas. He scored nine goals in Georgetown's victory over Villanova to tie for the most in a Division 1 game this season and finish one shy of the Georgetown program record and two shy of the NCAA record. His nine goals are the most all-time in a BIG EAST regular season and he tallied 20 goals and an assist in five league games as a rookie.
