Women's Lacrosse Travels to No. 5/6 Johns Hopkins

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown women's lacrosse team (2-1) will travel to Baltimore, to face No. 8/9 Johns Hopkins University on Tuesday, February 24. The opening draw is scheduled for 4 p.m. at Homewood Field. Live stats and streaming links will be available at GUHoyas.com.

ABOUT THE HOYAS
  • Georgetown enters the matchup following a narrow 10-7 loss to No. 3/2 Maryland, where they outshot the Terrapins 18-16 on goal. The Hoyas boast one of the premier defenses in the country, ranking 20th nationally and first in the BIG EAST in scoring defense, allowing just 7.33 goals per game.
  • Goalkeeper Leah Warehime has been a pillar in the cage, ranking 10th nationally in goals-against average (7.33) and 15th nationally in save percentage (.511).
  • Senior Gracie Driggs reached her 100th career goal against Maryland. She continues to be a dual threat for the Blue & Gray, leading the team in draw controls with 4.00 per game.
  • Anne McGovern marks second in the BIG EAST and ranks 26th nationally in shots per game (7.33). She currently paces the Hoya attack with 10 goals and 12 total points.
  • The Hoyas have been highly efficient in transition and ball security, ranking 6th in the nation in clearing percentage (.964) and 20th nationally in scoring defense (7.33)—marks that lead the BIG EAST in both categories.
  • Molly Wood ranks 11th nationally and second in the BIG EAST in caused turnovers per game (2.67).
ABOUT THE BLUE JAYS
  • No. 8/9 Johns Hopkins (4-0) enters Tuesday's contest undefeated following a dominant 15-9 victory over No. 14/16 Penn.
  • Against the Quakers, Ava Angello and Lacey Downey recorded five goals and two assists apiece.
  • Laurel Gonzalez commands the circle for JHU with a team-best 16 draw controls.
  • Reagan O'Brien leads the defense with 18 caused turnovers.
  • In net, Ashley Langdon has made 22 saves for a save percentage of .393.
ABOUT THE MATCHUP
  • Tuesday's contest marks the 22nd meeting between the Hoyas and the Blue Jays.
