Women's Lacrosse Travels to Saint Joseph’s

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown women's lacrosse team (3-1) will travel to Philadelphia to face Saint Joseph's University (1-3) on Friday, February 27. The opening draw is scheduled for 2 p.m. at Sweeney Field. Live stats and streaming links will be available at GUHoyas.com.

ABOUT THE HOYAS
  • Georgetown enters the matchup following a dominant 12-6 upset over No. 5/6 Johns Hopkins, where they held the Blue Jays to just one goal in the final quarter. The Hoyas boast one of the premier defenses in the country, ranking 13th nationally and first in the BIG EAST in scoring defense, allowing just 7.00 goals per game.
  • Goalkeeper Leah Warehime has been a pillar in the cage, ranking 9th nationally in goals-against average (7.00) and 15th nationally in save percentage (.509).
  • Senior Gracie Driggs was a force against Hopkins, recording four goals and five draw controls. She continues to be a dual threat for the Blue & Gray, leading the team in draw controls with 4.25 per game.
  • Annie McGovern ranks 1st in the BIG EAST in shots per game (6.75) and 30th nationally in goals per game (3.50). She currently paces the Hoya attack with 14 goals and 19 total points after an explosive seven-point performance in Baltimore.
  • The Hoyas have been highly efficient in transition and ball security, ranking 23rd in the nation in clearing percentage (.926).
  • Molly Wood ranks 25th nationally and second in the BIG EAST in caused turnovers per game (2.25).

ABOUT THE HAWKS
  • Saint Joseph's enters Friday's contest looking to bounce back following a narrow 17-15 loss to No. 3 Maryland.
  • Against the Terrapins, Lauren Lapointe and Kori Edmondson combined for nine points to lead the Hawk attack. Kate Fuhrman currently leads the team with 18 points on the season.
  • Riley Miller commands the circle for SJU with 20 draw controls through four games.
  • In net, Liana Moli has made 20 saves for a .333 save percentage.

ABOUT THE MATCHUP
