WASHINGTON – Georgetown track & field completed day one of the BIG EAST Indoor Championships presented by Jeep, with two Hoyas earning spots on the podium and several others advancing to the finals in their respective events.
BIG EAST INDOOR Championships Day 1 Results
Georgetown Men (5th - 18 points)
5000m: Quinn Parrish and
Birhanu Harriman both captured podium finishes. Parrish recorded a time of 14:15.58 for a second-place finish, while Harriman finished in third with a time of 14:16.47.
800m Prelims: The trio of
Tinoda Matsatsa (1:50.53),
Gabriele Angiono (3rd, 1:51.19) and
Nicholas Medeiros (5th,1:52.00) punched their tickets to the 800m final.
Mile Prelims: Tommy Shaw clocked 4:15.12 to qualify for the mile final.
60m Hurdles Prelims: Lucca Pizzimbono placed eighth with a time of 8.64, advancing to the 60m hurdles final.
400m Prelims: Nicholas Givan qualified for the 400m final after recording a time of 48.10. Micah McKenize finished 11th with a time of 48.85.
60m Prelims: Jackson McCusker took eighth, qualifying for the 60m final with a time of 6.93.
Mike Bradley finished in 10th with a time of 6.95, while
Jordan James took 16th with a time of 7.68
200m Prelims: Joshua Davenport took 12th with a time of 21.91, while Bradley placed 14th with a time of 22.58.
Men's DMR: The team of
Christopher Middleton-Pearson,
Joshua Davenport,
Daniel McCarthy and
Alex Pelov finished fourth with a time of 9:50.42.
Georgetown Women (7th - 6 points)
200m Prelims: Ida Moczerniuk clocked the 10th fastest time in program history with a season and personal-best time of 24.40 to qualify for the 200m final. Fitzgerald took ninth with a time of 24.53, while Calabretta (24.59) placed 14th and
Mia Coleman (26.29) finished 20th.
Mile Prelims: Charlotte Bell (4:49.90),
Charlotte Tomkinson (4:52.21),
Luci Lambert (4:52.14) and
Mary Grace Hegberg (5:52.59) each qualified for the mile final.
60m Prelims: Moczerniuk placed first with a time of 7.50, automatically qualifying for the 60m final.
Jadah Fitzgerald took ninth with a time of 7:71 followed by
Mia Coleman (18th, 7.86) and
Sofia Calabretta (20th, 7.88).
800m Prelims: Lillie Bogdan qualified for the final, running a time of 2:11.29 for a seventh-place finish.
Emma Zawatski finished ninth with a time of 2:13.97, while
Victoria Ketzler took 12th with a time of 2:15.22.
Women's DMR: The team of
Luci Lambert,
Barrett Justema,
Jadah Fitzgerald, and
Mary Grace Hegberg took fourth with a time of 11:34.37.
Long Jump: Tatum Cramer finished eighth with a mark of 5.54 (18-0.25)
