WASHINGTON – Following a narrow midweek setback against No. 20 Loyola, the No. 16/18 Georgetown women's lacrosse team (4-2) returns to Cooper Field this Saturday, March 7. The Hoyas will host the University of Delaware Blue Hens at 12 p.m. Live stats will be available at GUHoyas.com. and streaming will be available on ESPN+.
ABOUT THE HOYAS
- Georgetown looks to regain its momentum after a hard-fought 9-8 loss to Loyola Maryland on Wednesday. Despite the result, the Hoyas remain one of the most disciplined defensive units in the country, currently ranked eighth nationally in scoring defense (7.17 GAA).
- Leah Warehime continues her standout graduate season in the cage. She currently leads the BIG EAST and ranks ninth nationally with a .527 save percentage, having anchored a defense that has held five of its six opponents to under 10 goals.
- Gracie Driggs was the offensive spark on Wednesday, netting four goals to bring her season total to 16. Driggs, a recent addition to the Tewaaraton Award Watch List, also leads the team in draw controls (21).
- Anne McGovern continues to pace the Hoya offense, leading the team with 22 points on the season. The junior attacker has been a model of consistency, recording at least one point in every contest this year. Her season is highlighted by an explosive seven-point performance in the upset victory over Johns Hopkins and five points in the season opener against American.
- Sophia Loschert is coming off a productive outing against the Greyhounds, where she recorded a hat trick to bring her season total to 14 goals. Ranking third on the team in scoring, Loschert's high-efficiency shooting (50%) remains a key asset for the Hoya attack.
ABOUT THE BLUE HENS
- Delaware (1-3) travels to the District following a dominant 16-8 victory over UMBC.
- The Blue Hens feature a balanced attack led by Ella Rishko, who leads the team with 10 goals and 27 draw controls. Morgan Gore (6G) and Lulu Rishko (5G, 1A) also provide significant offensive pressure for a Delaware squad that averages 10 goals per game.
- Defensively, Kennedy Radziul and Kat Baseggio anchor the backline, each contributing nine ground balls on the season.
