WASHINGTON – Senior attacker
Gracie Driggs of the No. 18/19 Georgetown University women's lacrosse team has been named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll, as announced by the conference office on Monday. The recognition follows a week where Driggs reached a historic scoring milestone and powered the Hoya attack through a pair of high-stakes matchups.
Driggs was the offensive engine for the Hoyas (5-2) during a 1-1 week at Cooper Field. In a narrow 9-8 setback against No. 20 Loyola (MD) on Wednesday, Driggs accounted for half of the Hoya scoring, netting four goals to keep Georgetown within striking distance until the final whistle.
She followed that performance by showcasing her versatility in a thrilling 9-8 comeback victory over Delaware on Saturday. Driggs fueled a dominant 16-3 Georgetown advantage in the draw circle, securing a game-high eight draw controls. Her efforts helped the Hoyas maintain possession down the stretch to seal their fifth win of the season.
The Annapolis, Maryland native continues to etch her name into the Georgetown record books. With her eight draw controls against the Blue Hens, Driggs moved into third place all-time in program history with 222 career draw controls. Earlier this season, she solidified her place among the program's elite by joining the exclusive 100-goal club earlier this season in the contest against Maryland.
This is the third time this season Driggs has been recognized by the conference, having previously earned Honor Roll nods on February 23 and March 2. She was also recently added to the Tewaaraton Award Watch List, identifying her as one of the top players in college lacrosse.
