WASHINGTON – The No. 22 Georgetown University women's lacrosse team (9-4, 3-0 BIG EAST) looks to remain perfect in conference play as it travels to Indianapolis, for a matchup against the Butler University Bulldogs (3-10, 0-3 BIG EAST) on Saturday, April 11. Opening draw at Varsity Field is scheduled for noon.

The Hoyas are coming off a 13-7 non-conference setback at James Madison on Wednesday. Despite the loss, Georgetown saw multi-goal performances from
Betsy Burton and
Gracie Driggs, while the defense out-hustled the Dukes on the turf, leading in ground balls 15-13. Sophomore
Sophia Loschert and senior
Lauren Steer also added tallies in the effort.
ABOUT THE HOYAS
Georgetown (9-4, 3-0 BIG EAST) enters Saturday's matchup sitting atop the conference standings, having outscored BIG EAST opponents 48-18 so far this season. The Hoyas maintain a strong 6-1 record on the road and continue to be anchored by one of the nation's premier scoring defenses.
The Blue & Gray defense is led by graduate goalkeeper
Leah Warehime, who has started all 13 contests and recorded 97 saves on the year. Offensively, the Hoyas are paced by junior
Anne McGovern, who leads the team with 49 points (30G, 19A). Senior
Gracie Driggs, a Tewaaraton Award Watch List member, has tallied a team-high 35 goals and leads the squad with 43 draw controls.
Sophia Loschert (28G) and
Molly Davies (17G) provide additional depth for an attack that has been clinical in conference play.
ABOUT THE BULLDOGS
Butler enters the week with a 3-10 record and is searching for its first BIG EAST win of the season. The Bulldogs' offense is paced by Elise Latham, who leads the team with 32 goals and 34 points, alongside Riley Ryan who has recorded a team-high 18 assists. Grace Churchwell (19 pts) and Maggie Lewis (13 pts) have also been key contributors to the attack.
Defensively, Butler is anchored by Patricia Lynn, who leads the team with 20 caused turnovers. In net, Samantha Wilson has started all 13 contests for the Bulldogs, recording 108 saves and facing 343 shots this season.
SERIES HISTORY
Saturday marks the 10th meeting between the Hoyas and the Bulldogs in a series that began in 2017. Georgetown holds a perfect 9-0 advantage in the all-time series, having outscored Butler by an average of 12.5 goals per game. The Blue & Gray secured a 17-6 victory in the most recent meeting on April 12, 2025.
