Sept. 26, 2016 WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University volleyball team returns to action on Tuesday as it hosts BIG EAST foe Seton Hall. The match between the Hoyas and Pirates will take place at the UDC Sports Complex on the campus of the University of the District of Columbia at 6 p.m.

Georgetown (5-10, 1-1 BIG EAST) continues league play after a 1-1 split during the opening week of BIG EAST action. The Hoyas dropped the conference opener 3-1 against St. John's before putting together a dominating 3-0 performance over Villanova.
Symone Speech (Oak Park, Ill./Oak Park-River Forest) was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll for the second straight week following an impressive performance on the court. The sophomore middle blocker averaged 3.71 kills and 1.43 blocks per set while hitting at an impressive .340 clip. Her 12 kills and five blocks against the Red Storm were only outdone by her 14 kills, five blocks and a .407 hitting percentage in the sweep over the Wildcats.
On the season, Alyssa Sinnette (Pearland, Texas/Dawson) leads GU with 3.64 kills per set while Speech is right behind her with 3.15 kills a frame. Paige McKnight (Atlanta, Ga./Dunwoody) paces the offense with 10.25 assists per set and Kenzie Higareda's (Woodbridge, Va./Forest Park) 4.57 digs per set top the Blue & Gray's defensive back row.
Seton Hall (8-8, 2-1 BIG EAST) comes to the Nation's Capital with a 2-1 BIG EAST record under its belt. The Pirates dropped their conference opener at Villanova before bouncing back to consecutive home wins over Butler and Xavier.
Cherise Hennigan leads SHU with 3.09 kills per set and is hitting .239 on the year while Danielle Schroeder and Abby Thelan are both just behind her with 2.97 and 2.67 kills per set, respectively. Sophia Coffey and Maggie Cvelbar share the setting duties and combine for more than 11 assists per set. Tessa Fournier's 5.48 digs per set lead the Pirates and Haylee Gasser chips in 1.10 blocks per set at the net.
Following Tuesday's match, the Hoyas embark on a Midwest road trip to face BIG EAST foes Marquette on Friday and DePaul on Saturday.
