WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University baseball team (6-15) returns home to Shirley Povich Field this weekend, hosting Hartford for a three-game series. Friday's series opener is set for 3 p.m., while Saturday's game will start at 2 p.m. and Sunday's contest will begin at 1 p.m. Live stats and a video stream for all three games will be available at GUHoyas.com.
The Hoyas are coming off a 7-4 loss at George Mason on Tuesday. Three different players were on base multiple times while
Kai Nelson (New York, N.Y. / Fieldston) and
Ryan P. Davis (Oak Hill, Va. / Oakton) hit back-to-back pinch-hit home runs in the ninth inning.
Jack Cushing (Flower Mound, Texas / Marcus) started on the mound and pitched 6.0 strong innings. He gave up three runs, two earned, on six hits and one walk while striking out eight.

Kyle Ruedisili (Jupiter, Fla. / The Benjamin School / Washington and Lee University) was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll for his efforts in Georgetown's five games last week. Ruedisili batted .462 (6 for 13) and recorded a .611 on-base percentage and a .846 slugging percentage. He had two hits, including a double, two runs scored and an RBI in a 14-5 win over Coppin State on Wednesday, while also stealing a base. In the second game of Saturday's doubleheader against Princeton, Ruedisili went 3 for 4 with another double, two runs scored and two stolen bases. He homered in Sunday's win over Princeton, putting the Hoyas on the board with a solo shot in the third inning.
For the season,
Eddie McCabe (Norwalk, Conn. / Conn.) leads the Hoyas with a .364 (28 for 77) batting average and 15 RBIs.
Michael Willis (Baltimore, Md. / Gilman) is batting .340 (18 for 53) with a home run and 13 RBIs.
Ryan P. Davis is hitting at a .333 (19 for 57) clip with home runs in each of the past two games and 12 RBIs.
Ryan M. Davis (Danville, Calif. / San Ramon Valley) is hitting .321 (27 for 85) with two home runs, three triples and a team-high eight doubles. Ruedisili is batting .299 (20 for 67) and leads GU in several categories including home runs (4), runs scored (22) and stolen bases (6) while ranking second in doubles (7) and RBIs (14). As a team, the Hoyas are batting .291, which leads the BIG EAST, while the pitching staff owns a 5.71 ERA.
Hartford enters this weekend with a 2-11 overall record after falling to Bryant 23-3 on Wednesday. The Hawks won their first two games of the season last weekend against Albany in America East play. Nik Pagan leads Hartford with a .333 (14 for 42) batting average and is tied for the team lead with two home runs. Zachary Ardito is the only other Hawk hitting over .300, coming in at .313 (15 for 48) clip. John Thrasher has five stolen bases and Chris Sullivan has a team-high 10 RBIs. As a squad, Hartford is hitting .230, while the pitching staff has recorded a 9.20 team ERA.
