Hoyas Travel to Marquette

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University women's soccer team is set to travel to Milwaukee, Wisconsin to take on the Marquette Golden Eagles on Thursday, October 19. Kickoff is slated for 8 p.m. EST/7 p.m. CST at Valley Fields. The Hoyas, receiving votes in the United Soccer Coaches Poll enter the contest with an 8-1-7 (4-0-4 BE) record after tying Providence on Sunday afternoon 1-1.

ABOUT THE HOYAS
  • Georgetown downed Villanova 2-0 on Thursday afternoon behind goals from Natalie Means and Brianne Riley.
  • GU drew Providence on Sunday behind an 88th minute goal from Erika Harwood.
  • Means paces the GU offense with four goals on the season, good for eight points.
  • Riley earned a nod to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll after scoring her second goal as a Hoya against Villanova on Thursday afternoon.
  • Augur recorded her ninth shutout of the season against Villanova. Augur is second in the country in save percentage and tied for fifth in the country in shutouts this season. The graduate student is second in the nation in goals- against average allowing .308 goals per contest.
  • Julia Leas was ranked the No. 16 player in the country by Top Drawer Soccer (TDS) in its midseason rankings this past week.
  • Riley was named the No. 63 player in the nation by TDS last week as the Hoyas have two athletes in the top 100.
  • Kaya Hanson was tabbed as a top-100 freshman by TDS last week. Hanson has appeared in 12 games this season starting three of those contests. The freshman scored her first collegiate goal against Princeton on September 14.

  • The Golden Eagles enter Thursday's contest with a 5-7-4 (2-3-2 BE) record after drawing Villanova 1-1 on Sunday afternoon.
  • Josie Bieda paces the Marquette offense with six points on the season on three goals.
  • Mikki Easter has logged over 1,200 minutes between the pipes and boasts a goals-against average of 1.12.
 
ABOUT THE SERIES
  • The Hoyas and Golden Eagles have met 14 times, Georgetown holds a 10-3-1 advantage in the all-time series.
  • The last meeting between the two sides was a 1-0 Georgetown victory at Shaw Field. Emma Davis scored the game winner in the 80th minute on an unassisted effort.
