WASHINGTON – Tuesday the BIG EAST Conference announced that Georgetown University's
Chloe Scrimgeour has been named Female Athlete of the Week in cross country. Scrimgeour was No. 3 Georgetown's top finisher at the Virginia Invitational, finishing seventh overall in the 6,000 meter race.

- Scrimgeour finished seventh in the 6k with a time of 19:59.2, leading Georgetown to a third-place finish. The terrain was the roughest they raced in all season, competing in the face of heavy rain.
- Georgetown's third-place finish came in a dense field of 33 teams. The competition included No.1 NC State, No. 2 North Arizona, No. 4 Notre Dame, and No. 5 Stanford.
- This is Scrimgeour's second BIG EAST Female Athlete of the Week honor this season. The last time she took home the honor came after her second place finish at the Virginia Invitational on September, 23rd.
- Scrimgeour earned All-America honors last season, finishing eighth in the 5000m at the NCAA Division I Championships.
- The Connecticut native is also a two-time BIG EAST champion, winning the 5000m in both the Indoor and Outdoor Championships last season.
