WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University baseball team will travel to College Park, Maryland to face the University of Maryland Terrapins this week. The midweek matchup at Bob "Turtle" Smith Stadium is scheduled for Tuesday, February 17 with first pitch coming at 4 p.m.

ABOUT THE HOYAS
- In its last outing, Georgetown went 1-2 in the series on the road at Winthrop.
- Graduate student JT Raab earned a nod to the 2026 Preseason All-BIG EAST Team after posting a team-best 3.63 ERA in 74.1 innings of action in 2025. The Seaford, New York native was named to the All-BIG EAST Second Team in 2025.
- Jeremy Sheffield started the 2026 season strong slashing .545/.615/.545 in three games played. The senior notched six hits, four RBIs and a pair of walks.
- In his first time suiting up for the Hoyas, Connor Peek had a standout performance slashing .500/.538/.700 against Winthrop. The graduate student tallied five hits, a pair of doubles, two RBIs and three runs scored.
- In his debut as a Hoya, LHP Spencer Seid delivered a dominant outing for the Hoyas in game three of the series, going 5.0 innings with six strikeouts, allowing no runs and no hits.
- Georgetown returns 22 players from the 2025 squad and has added 10 transfers and seven newcomers.
- The Hoyas welcomed seven newcomers to the 2026 roster: Ashton Arroyo, Charlie Hendrix, Dixon Monk, Gibson Pauley, Drew Rybinski, Simon Tesfaye and Max Whitmer.
- The Hoyas added 10 graduate transfers from the transfer portal in the offseason: Brett Blair, Luke Jackman, Trajan Lee, Jack Mullen, Andrew Moy, Will Newell, Peek, Dante Pozzi, Seid and AJ Solomon.
- Head Coach Edwin Thompson enters his sixth season on the Hilltop. Thompson guided GU to its most successful season in program history in 2024 posting a 36-21 record marking three-consecutive 30-win seasons for the first time in program history.
ABOUT MARYLAND
- Maryland finished the 2025 season with a 27-29 overall record and a 12-18 mark in conference play.
- The Terrapins opened their season with a 2-1 series victory at UNC Wilmington, scoring 14-total runs.
- Redshirt freshman, Ryan Costello, started his Maryland career off hot with a three-run home run in game two of the series. He totaled a team-leading five RBIs in the Valentine's Day weekend series.
- Sophomore catcher, Rylen Stockton, also had a great start to his career with Maryland, hitting the first home run for the team this season in game one of the series. He had two RBIs and a 1.667 OPS over the three-game series.
- Matt Swope enters his third season at the helm of Maryland.

The Hoyas will be back in action on Friday, February 20 for the 2026 home opener against Saint Peter's University. First pitch is slated for 3 p.m. at Capital One Park in Tysons, Virginia.
